In addition to the web app, xkat is available as a native desktop application, giving you a dedicated window for learning and creating.

Why use the desktop app

Dedicated window

A focused space for xkat, separate from your browser tabs.

Same experience

The same courses, workspace, and account as the web — your progress syncs.

Getting it

Download the desktop app from xkat.space/download and sign in with your existing account. Everything — courses, progress, and library — stays in sync with the web app.
The macOS app is not signed by Apple yet. A downloaded .dmg is blocked the first time you open it (“unidentified developer”), so the download page leads with the one-line terminal install, which avoids that prompt.

xkat-cli comes with the app

The desktop app ships with xkat-cli (the Agent and Lab tools), so the Tools menu works without a separate npm install. The app uses its own bundled copy. Installing a newer app brings a newer xkat-cli with it. See xkat-cli.
Desktop availability and platform support may change over time. See What’s New for the current status.
