# AI Wizard

> Generate a full course outline from a prompt.

The **AI Wizard** is the fastest way to start a course. Describe what you want to
teach, and it drafts a structured course outline you can refine.

## Using the wizard

<Steps>
  <Step title="Describe the course">
    Provide a topic, audience, and goals — or start from an
    [imported file](/en/studio/ai-import).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set constraints">
    Specify difficulty, length, and scope. These are treated as firm constraints,
    not loose suggestions, by the generation engine.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the outline">
    The wizard produces a course structure — modules, lessons, and how they
    connect. Edit anything before generating full content.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Hand off to generation">
    Approve the outline and the [V4 Generator](/en/studio/v4-generator) fills in
    the lesson content.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Why constraints matter

xkat's engine deliberately treats your difficulty and length settings as
**immutable constraints** and injects a matching "Golden Template" so the AI
stays on-target. This is what keeps generated courses consistent and usable. Read
more in the [AI control pipeline](/en/platform/ai-pipeline).

<Note>
  AI generation consumes [AI Credits](/en/platform/ai-credits). Designing the
  outline structure itself is free.
