# AI Import

> Turn existing files and documents into structured lessons.

**AI Import** converts existing material — documents and files you already have —
into structured xkat lessons. It's the bridge from "content you wrote elsewhere"
to "an interactive course."

## How it works

    Bring in an existing document or source material.

    The importer splits the material into focused micro-nodes and proposes how
    they connect, using the same template-guided approach as the
    [V4 Generator](/en/studio/v4-generator).

  <Step title="Review and refine">
    Adjust the generated nodes, relationships, and lesson content in Studio.
  </Step>

## Monthly import allowance

AI imports are granted as a monthly per-tier allowance:

* **Free** — AI Import not available.
* **Basic** — 5 per month.
* **Pro** — 10 per month.
* **Creator** — unlimited.

  If you import a lot of material, higher tiers raise your monthly import
