# The 3D Knowledge Graph

> Explore skills as a connected universe of prerequisites.

xkat organizes all learning as a **knowledge graph** — a connected universe of
skills you can explore in 3D, rather than a flat list of courses.

## Nodes and prerequisites

* Each **node** is a focused skill or concept.
* Nodes are linked by **`REQUIRES`** relationships: an edge from A to B means you
  should learn B before A.
* Following these edges produces a natural learning order — the basis of your
  [roadmap](/en/learn/roadmap).

## Exploring in 3D

The graph is rendered as an interactive 3D skill tree. You can:

* **Pan and zoom** to navigate clusters of related skills.
* **Select a node** to see its lessons, prerequisites, and what it unlocks.
* **Trace a path** from a foundational skill to an advanced goal.

## Your progress on the map

As you complete lessons, the corresponding nodes reflect your progress, so the
graph doubles as a map of how far you've come and what's still ahead.

<Tip>
The same graph that learners explore is what creators design in the Studio. See
[Designing the Knowledge Graph](/en/studio/knowledge-design) and the
  [architecture](/en/platform/knowledge-graph-architecture) behind it.
